Crossroads of Learning division is pleased to present “Tutoring Foundations,” a comprehensive, self-paced, on-line tutor training developed with, and approved by Fielding Graduate University and the National Tutoring Association (NTA).  Certification and CEUs are optional following completion of the course (see below).

The course topics cover all the skills and philosophical understanding required to tutor students of any age level in a variety of situations and includes:

  • Individual mentoring from an NTA Advanced or Master Tutor
  • On-going review and feedback by course mentors
  • A final oral exam conducted by phone

This course requires the following

  • A personal computer with internet access at a minimum 56K dial-up
  • Approximately 40 hours of study
  • $349 fee, payable in advance, major credit cards accepted.

Successful completion of this course qualifies students to:

  • Receive three CEUs granted by Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA ($45 fee)
  • Apply for Basic Tutor Certification from the National Tutoring Association. 
    A specially priced $99 application package includes:
    • Processing fee to review academic and personal references
    • Criminal background check
    • One year NTA membership (may be added to existing membership)
